Tour to Hyder-ALASKA and Stewart

A gravel road leads through the endless rainforest, passing mushroom picking camps, the beautiful Dragon Lake with its cristal clear water and a river,where you can watch the Sockey Salmon spawning. In Stewart, location of the famous movie “ Insomnia with Robert Deniro” the last Canadian town before the Alaska border, you will stay in the town's only hotel, the King Edward Hotel. Still on the same day you will cross the border to Hyder, Alaska, a rustic and ancient American small town of the Wild West. Here, gold diggers and adventurers found their home. In the nearby Salmon River, Grizzly bears can be watched from a close distance as they catch salmon migrating upstream. After you enjoy the renowned and typical 'Hyderiser', a high-percentage Schnaps, in the Hyder-Bar, you obtain a Riser Certificate. The day is rounded off by a scrumptuous dinner of king crab, an Alaskan speciality. The following day begins after an extensive Alaska breakfast with a visit to the Salmon Glacier, the fifth largest glacier in the world. The tour continues through a native village with carved totem poles that tell the history of the native clans.
